Go Go JEWS (revised) posted Jan 5th 2009, 4:21PM

Ok, let me put this in perspective for everyone:
After WW1, British leaders and the League of Nations approved a treaty called the "British Mandate of Palestine" in which the Jews were given the land of Israel (which, also took away land from Palestine). Many Arabs were angered and refused (and still refuse) to accept Israel as a state.
After this, the Arabs and Israelis fought in several wars, each time with Israel victorious, confirming its independence and also expanding its territory.
In 1967, Arab nationalists declared that Israel had to be wiped out, and Egypt, Jordan and Syria massed troops close to Israeli borders, blocking out UN peacekeepers, and access to the Red Sea. Israel said, 'hey, we're not waiting for you to bomb us' so they attacked and had a 6 day war. Israel won and further pissed off the Arabs.
This defeat made the Arabs act un- officially in a group called Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO)(there were other Palestinian groups too, the PLO is the largest) which was solely dedicated to, "armed struggle as the only way to liberate the homeland".
In the late 60's and 70's Palestinian's in such groups launched a series of attacks against Jews around the world, including the massacre of Jews at the 1972 Summer Olympics. Israel responded with "Operation Wrath of God" in which it assassinated the attackers.
On 1973's Yom Kippur (aka, holiest day in Judaism) Egypt and Syria launched a surprise attack on Israel which lasted 20 days, and once again, fighting for their lives and their homeland, Israel was victorious (however, they suffered a great loss of life).
In 1991, during the Gulf War, Palestine and the PLO supported Saddam Hussein in missile attacks against Israel. (and we all know how popular Saddam was in the US…)
(Ah, I should mention, Egypt and Jordan now recognize Israel as a country in 1994, Egypt recognized them first in 1977, and Jordan in 1994)
Despite a peace treaty between Arabs and Israel (The Oslo Accords) (Bill Clinton helped with getting this treaty signed in 1993) the public support of this treaty was waning, as Palestinian suicide attacks raged the area.
In July 2006, a Hezbollah artillery assault on Israel's northern border communities and a cross border abduction of two Israeli soldiers sparked the Second Lebanon War. The clashes were brought to end a month later by a ceasefire.
All this leads up to this most recent event:
In late December 2008, a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel collapsed after rockets were fired from the Hamas controlled Gaza Strip. Israel responded with a series of air strikes. In response, protests broke out around the world. On 3rd January 2009, Israeli Troops entered Gaza marking the start of a ground offensive.
Ok, so that’s the back-story. None of this indicates that Israel ever, not in any of this history, attacked Palestine without being provoked first. So you tell me, what is Israel supposed to do? Sit there and get bombed? I don’t think so.
So now that Israel is showing a spine, the world cries, “Oh no! Those poor Gazans, they’re dying~” Okay, Israel WARNED Gaza that it was going to attack them, and what about the Israeli loss of life? When Hamas bombed them first? Does no one care how many Jews died in Hamas’ bombings?
And also, let me point out, Arab’s have no concept of ‘life’, look at the suicide bombing against our troops, look at 9-11. They’ll gladly throw away their lives, and anyone else’s for that matter, for the sake of their ‘cause’. One man sent his own son out with a bomb and told him to blow himself up and take some Israeli’s with him. HIS OWN SON. Now you tell me how much respect and love that father had of life? These are not people like us, and to assume that is faulty.
My point is, our reaction is exactly what Hamas intended when they asked/told/forced Palestinians to stay in Gaza, so they would be killed, and then whipped up how ‘bad it was in Gaza’ and ‘oh our people are dead’.
America has a treaty with Israel. We support the Jews. Palestine hates us, therefore, we should support Israel and not Hamas.
I say, let Israel do what it wants. Hamas attacked first and so, it’s well within its right to attack Palestine.
So yeah, I hope Israel wins, and I hope we don’t poke our nose into anything else.
With that, I say:
Go Go Jew Power!
